What is MATE?

It stands for Marine Advanced Technology Education

They challenge students to build underwater robots – also known as remotely operated vehicles or ROVs – with the main goal to teach science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and prepare students for technical careers.

About Us

After receiving a grant from the Motorola Solutions Foundation at the beginning of 2019, our team started the journey to build a MATE ROV.

Our first year was rocky as we struggled to build a working control box and mix water with electronics, but we learned so much from our experience.

We can't wait to see what next year brings!
